Become a driving instructor
A new career where every day is different. We train you through the full ADI qualification pathway — charged per lesson, just like any other learner student.
The pathway
The ADI qualification has three parts. Training is delivered one-to-one by a Grade A instructor trainer, and you only pay for the lessons you take — no expensive upfront course fees.

Check you’re eligible
You need a full UK driving licence held for at least 3 years, to be aged 21 or over, to read a number plate at 90 feet, and to have no more than 5 penalty points and no serious convictions.

Part 1 — Theory
100 multiple-choice questions (85 to pass) plus a hazard perception test (57 out of 75). You get three attempts, and we’ll prepare you properly for each one.

Part 2 — Practical driving
An advanced driving ability test where you must demonstrate expert driving control — fewer than 5 driving faults to pass.

Pink Trainee Badge (optional)
After 40 hours of training you can apply for a trainee licence (£140, valid 6 months) to gain real instructing experience — with 20% of lessons supervised, or 20 extra hours of training.

Part 3 — Instructional ability
A live lesson assessed by a DVSA examiner. Score 32+ for a Grade B pass, 42+ for a Grade A — with a minimum score of 8 required in risk management.

Green Badge
£350 for a 4-year licence, plus a periodic standards check. You’re now a fully qualified ADI — and we’ll help you get started.
